BETTY'S TRAIL RIDES Not Just Another Trail Ride

Patty Butler, a close friend of Betty's, has invented a way to keep your bird, hamster, rabbit or other small pet in its cage while you are cleaning and working with it. Patty has had first hand experience with birds and animals getting out and becoming lost. She has found various birds, some of considerable value, that have flown from home and she has searched for, but not always found, the owners. Some of these birds have been well trained and taken care of, with hours and hours of work and love obviously invested in them.

Over the years, Patty has developed her animal door guards. She is now making them available to you, so that you never have to experience the heartbreak of losing a beloved pet while you are trying to work with him in his cage.

Below you will find pictures of a door guard with directions and how to install and use it.

Using the safety pins provided in the package, pin the tube shaped door guard around the outside of the cage door. If your door slides upward, simply stretch the door guard tightly across the top, but don't pin it across the top side, leaving room for the door to slide upward. The same applies if your door slides downward. If your cage door swings open, pin all four sides

Open the cage door. Loosen the draw string at the bottom of the door guard and put your hand through the guard and into the cage. You are free to work. If the bird or other pet tries to escape, he will find himself entangeled in the guard, where you will be able to easily retrieve him.

When you are finished, close the cage door, withdraw your hand and tighten the drawstring on the bottom of the guard.

Roll the guard up and tie securely on the outside of the door.

That's all there is to it!

When your door becomes soiled, simply pop it into the washer and dryer.
